How to Become a Seller (3 Simple Steps)
Start selling models, courses, and engineering files with full control of your content and pricing.
Create your account
Sign up on Engineering Downloads. If you already have an account, you can skip this step.
Request seller access
After logging in, click “Become a Seller” (in the website header). This sends your request to our team.
Get approved & upload
Once approved, you can upload your models, courses, or files in your vendor dashboard and publish your listings.
Message us and we’ll guide you through your first upload, formats, and best‑practice listing setup.
What You Can Sell on ED
You decide what to publish and how to package it — as long as you own the rights and it follows our platform guidelines.
Models & Engineering Files
Simulation models, templates, ready‑to‑use examples, tools, and project files (FEA/CFD/structural, etc.).
Tutorial Courses
You can upload tutorial content as PDF, PPT/PPTX, video tutorials, or structured packages with clear steps.
Codes & Scripts
MATLAB/Python scripts, automation tools, solver scripts, etc. We recommend concise comments and a short README.
If you already have courses/videos in another language, we can help you translate them — contact support to coordinate.
Uploading & Listing Best Practices
You’ll get better sales (and fewer questions) when your product is easy to understand and easy to run.
What to include in your upload
Recommended checklist:
- README (how to run, inputs/outputs, units)
- Software/version used (so buyers can reproduce results)
- Clean folder structure (ZIP/RAR recommended)
- Images or preview (results screenshots)
- Concise comments (for code/scripts)
Boost sales with a 1–3 minute demo
For best results, we recommend a short demo video showing what the model does and the final results. Simple screen recordings work perfectly.
Commission & Referral Earnings
You set your own prices. Our earnings model is simple and transparent.
70% to you / 30% to ED
For regular sales (no referral link used), you keep 70% and ED takes 30%.
90% to you / 10% to ED
If a buyer purchases via your referral link, you keep 90% and ED takes 10%.
Tip: share your referral link on LinkedIn, Telegram channels, your portfolio, and with repeat clients.
Payments & Payouts
You can track earnings in your vendor dashboard and request payouts when eligible.
How payouts work
- You can view your balance anytime in your vendor dashboard.
- Payouts are available once your balance reaches €100.

- Standard: 70% to you / 30% to ED

How and when do I get paid?
Can I sell models based on journal papers? What about confidentiality?
- Only upload content you have the rights to sell.
- Remove sensitive data, names, proprietary geometry, and unique identifiers.
- If needed, slightly modify the model (e.g., geometry/parameters) so the upload is a safe, original educational version.
- If you’re unsure, message support and we’ll advise on safe packaging.
