Product Overview:
In this video tutorial, we simulate the effect of a water jet on a thin plate using Abaqus. The simulation utilizes the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method for modeling the water, while the material behavior of the plate is represented using the Us-Up equation.
Key Features of the Simulation:
- Water Modeling: The SPH method effectively captures the dynamics of the water jet, allowing for an accurate representation of fluid behavior during the cutting process.
- Plate Modeling: The thin plate is modeled using shell elements that exhibit elastic-plastic behavior. This captures both the stiffness and ductility of the material as it responds to the impact of the water jet.
- Damage Modeling: To simulate plate failure during the impact, the Edit Keyboard capability in Abaqus has been utilized to create a damage model, allowing for an accurate representation of material degradation.
