Dual-fiber laser treatment of the prostate has been widely accepted in clinical practice due to its minimal invasiveness and high controllability.
However, for large tumors, multiple insertions of the laser probe are often required to achieve full coverage, increasing the complexity of the procedure and occasionally resulting in incomplete tumor cell ablation due to mismatches between the planned and actual insertion locations.
A finite element model was developed to simulate the treatment process. In this model, the equation writing method is used to create the laser beam and bioheat transfer module is used to discuss heat transfer.
