Description

Product Overview:
This video demonstrates the simulation of an earthquake load affecting a gravity dam in interaction with water and soil. The entire model is two-dimensional, with the dam using the Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) material model, Mohr-Coulomb behavior for the soil, and Acoustic properties, including Bulk Modulus, for the water. Infinite elements were applied to the soil regions distant from the foundation. The dynamic implicit step was chosen for this analysis, which ran for 10 seconds, with earthquake-induced acceleration applied at the base of the soil.

Key Topics:

  • Construction of the dam, water, and soil components with precise material properties and configurations.
  • Setting dynamic simulations to analyze performance during seismic events.
  • Generating interaction properties between soil, dam, and water to ensure accurate representation of behavior.
