Product Overview:
This tutorial walks you through a detailed step-by-step simulation of a femur bone fracture caused by the impact of a rigid body in Abaqus. The impactor, modeled as a rigid body, was assigned an initial velocity to penetrate the femur bone. The bone’s geometry was created in SolidWorks and imported into Abaqus for analysis.
To accurately predict the fracture zones in the bone, the Johnson-Cook (JC) material model was applied. This advanced model effectively captures plasticity and damage behavior during high-impact scenarios. Additionally, to define the general contact and account for internal element interactions, the edit keyboard feature was utilized.
