This course provides a comprehensive overview of fracture mechanics simulation using Abaqus, focusing on the numerical modeling and analysis of crack initiation and propagation in engineering materials and structures. Participants will explore the theoretical foundations of fracture mechanics alongside advanced computational methods for predicting material failure.
The course covers both traditional and modern fracture modeling techniques, including the J-integral method, Cohesive Zone Modeling (CZM), and the Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM). Emphasis is placed on understanding the physical meaning of fracture parameters, implementing appropriate modeling strategies, and correlating simulation results with experimental data.
By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and practical skills to model 2D and 3D cracks, simulate fracture under complex loading conditions, and evaluate structural integrity using Abaqus as a powerful research and engineering tool.
