In this video, we simulate the impact of soil on a metal plate in Abaqus using the SPH method. The soil is modeled as a three-dimensional part exhibiting elastic-plastic behavior with a smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH) formulation. The Coulomb-Mohr plasticity model is applied to represent the soil behavior. To facilitate the transition from continuum to particle elements, the input file editing capability is used. During the explicit dynamic analysis, the soil causes deformation in the metal plate, leading to the separation of soil particles.
