Product Overview:
This file includes a comprehensive CAE model and a full English video demonstrating the explosive welding process between copper and aluminum pipes using Abaqus. Both pipes are designed as axisymmetric components, along with the TNT, which is also modeled as axisymmetric. The behavior of TNT is represented using the Jones-Wilkens-Lee (JWL) equation of state.
Recent advancements have highlighted the benefits of utilizing dissimilar material combinations to fulfill modern design requirements, such as lightweight structures and enhanced structural reinforcement. This growing interest spans various engineering disciplines, though challenges arise when attempting to join bulk materials with differing melting points using conventional welding methods.
In this simulation, the copper pipe functions as the flyer pipe, moving toward the aluminum pipe. The explosive force generated by the TNT creates significant pressure on the flyer pipe, resulting in a weld joint at the interface of the two pipes.
