Description

Product Overview:

In this video, we provide a detailed walkthrough of simulating a bird strike event in ABAQUS. The analysis focuses on a collision between a bird and a windshield. For this simulation, we utilized the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) approach to accurately model the bird’s behavior. There are two main methods to implement SPH in ABAQUS:

  1. The first method involves using ABAQUS CAE, which can be somewhat complex.
  2. The second method requires modifications to the input file. We changed the element type from C3D8R to PC3D and made additional adjustments for interaction modeling.

For simulating the wind effect, we employed an Elastic model, while for the bird, we used the Us-Up model.
