About Course

Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) is a material model in ABAQUS designed to simulate the nonlinear behavior of concrete under various loading conditions, including tension, compression, and cyclic loading. It captures key features such as: Cracking in tension (brittle failure), Crushing in compression (plastic deformation), Stiffness degradation (damage accumulation) , Time-dependent effects (creep, shrinkage). CDP model provides a robust way to simulate concrete failure under complex loading scenarios, i.e., Reinforced concrete structures (beams, columns, slabs), Seismic analysis (cyclic loading, hysteresis), Impact and blast simulations (high-strain-rate behavior), Progressive collapse analysis (damage accumulation). However, proper calibration of inputs such as inelastic strains and damage parameters and are crucial for accurate results.

This Python-based ABAQUS plugin is designed to simplify and automate the process of defining CDP material properties in finite element simulations. It provides a user-friendly interface to input key CDP parameters, ensuring accurate and consistent modeling of concrete behavior under various loading conditions.

The plugin eliminates manual errors in defining damage, plasticity, and hardening laws. Moreover, the plugin is based on the equation provided by FIP model code 2010 and includes calibrated parameters. It also inputs the *elastic option in ABAQUS.

This plugin streamlines the process, reducing setup time and improving reliability.
